Linking Documents to Alter Actions

Workspace attachment allows you to connect any of your existing Alter workspaces to custom actions, providing the AI with relevant context from your files, folders, and documentation when executing the action.

Getting Started

Access the Action Editor

  1. Open Alter
  2. Click on the three dots in the top right corner
  3. Select “Action Editor”

Enable Workspace Attachment

  1. In the Action Editor, look for the “Advanced” section of an Alter Action
  2. Find the “Workspace” option
  3. Choose from any of your existing workspaces to attach to the action

Use Case: Automatically generate newsletters using previous editions as context

Setup:

  1. Create a workspace containing examples of previous newsletters
  2. Create an Alter action for newsletter generation
  3. Attach the newsletter workspace to this action

  2. Right-click the audio file and select “Add to Alter”
  3. Alter automatically transcribes the audio
